The weekend’s fun isn’t over, because this week the city is absolutely brimming with things to do.

Of course, the last week of Expo 2020 Dubai is a must for this week. But what else is going on? Live music? Yes. Unlimited food and drink deals? Yep. Ladies’ night offers? Check. Along with Expo, here’s where we’re going to be over the next seven days.

Start the week with an evening brunch at Play

This Monday evening brunch is not for the faint of heart. Play’s weekday drunch with live entertainment extends well into the night. Though you’ll want to skip this if you’ve got early meetings on Tuesday morning the atmosphere ramps up after the brunch ends at 10pm.

Listen to Syrian tunes at Expo 2020

It’s Expo 2020’s last Monday in business, and if you’ve been loving their live music, don’t miss what could be the last of the Infinite Nights concert series. Tonight Syrian singer Assala Nasri is taking to the Jubilee Stage for a free gig.

Tuesday night jazz at Alserkal Avenue

In the mood for some jazz? Rony Afif & Friends are putting on a Jazz Day 2022 concert at Alserkal Avenue this Tuesday evening.  Drummer Rony will be joined by his life-long friends for a unique twist on traditional jazz. They will be joined by Hong Kong-born singer-songwriter Semi L Trio and her band who are performing in Dubai for the first time ever. A two-for-one treat for your ears, if you love jazz, you shouldn’t miss this.

Have a giggle with international comedian Seann Walsh

Sometimes you just need a laugh, if that sounds like you this Tuesday night then why not get a fit of the giggles at the Word of Mouth Comedy Club? If you’re into your lols you might already know Seann Walsh from shows like Live at the Apollo, 8 out of 10 Cats and Tonight at the London Palladium. Hosted by the gas Liz Bains, you’ll find this comedy club at Phileas Foggs.

Ladies’ Night at Palm West Beach

See Christina Aguilera at Expo 2020

After the last six months have flown by, the last week of Expo 2020 has (rather sadly) arrived. But all is not lost as there are big plans to transform some of the site into community and residential area District 2020. Plus, this week there’s a stellar line-up of things to do and see including Christina Aguilera who is headlining the closing ceremony on Thursday March 31. Aguilera will be joined by international musician Yo-Yo Ma and acclaimed singer-songwriter Norah Jones in live performances throughout the evening. It’s free to attend with an entrance ticket, but of course, you’ll want to get there early as crowds gather to wave farewell to the world’s greatest show.

Delicious grape and cheese at Conrad Dubai

There’s a new post-work hotspot on the scene, complete with everything you need to have a good time – and by that, we mean unlimited grape and cheese. Gather your pals, don your most comfortably loose outfit and prepare for an evening of seriously good cheese. Bonus: the pretty cheeseboards here do wonders for social engagement!

Dance in the stars (well, almost)

Take your Thursday evening to new heights at Aura Skypool where Brazilian DJ Darlyy Ferreira will be taking to the sky-high decks here. You’ll want to look the part as skyline views and exclusive clientele set a seriously glam feel here. To gain entry book a table in advance, of which there are a few options at different price points. The Gravity High Table is the cheapest with a Dhs2000 minimum spend for four people, and the Core Lounge table in the DJ circle is the most premium at Dhs5000 (minimum spend) for up to eight people.

Sakura Thursday nights at Cove Beach

We know it’s difficult to decide what to do on a Thursday evening as the city is brimming with options. But if you are craving authentic Japanese food, then Sakura Nights at Two.0 is probably the place for you. And because sharing is caring, be sure to drag your friends along with you – the sharing platter here looks particularly good. Not to forget, the unlimited grape that goes with it.

Saturday rooftop brunching at Soho Garden

If the weekend might as well be spelt b-r-u-n-c-h to you, this Saturday we suggest heading to The Soho Rooftop Brunch at Soho Palm Jumeirah. If oh-so-gorgeous views of the Palm, aren’t enough, their two for the price of one deal (for the first 50 bookings) sure should be.

For nostalgic Indian eats head to Ashiana

Dubai old-timers are in for a nostalgic treat, as this week sees the reopening of Indian restaurant, Ashiana. Head back here for some of the Awadhi old-favourites (think kebabs, biryanis and dal) or try venture into something new with their creative fusion flavours. The Lucknowi raan (lamb marinated for 48 hours and slow-roasted) comes recommended, and there are plenty of options for vegetarians including quinoa kebabs, vegetable biryani and Punjabi chickpea curry. Plus, there’s live music here over the weekends.

Every day is beach day at this new beach club

The new addition to the city’s beach club scene, Sand Bar has all the makings of a new hot-spot. That’s why we think you should try it out this week, before it becomes too busy (and too hot). A bohemian style bar, the beachy menu here doesn’t disappoint. Think decent selection of bubbly, grape and hops with plenty of sweet and savoury bites.

Have a vegan burger at Kite Beach

Calling all vegans, plant-based eaters, flexitarians and those trying to cut down their meat intake. TiNDLE are joining forces with Sides (by Sidemen) to offer plant-based burgers and veggie chicken tenders with a choice of seven vegan sauces at Kite Beach. The kiosk celebrates the collaboration between plant-based chicken, TiNDLE, and Sidemen, a group of seven content creators.  Pick one of the sauces (each one representing one of the Sidemen members), or try them all if you dare!

Sip on coffee at new JVC café

There’s a new spot to grab a cup o’Joe in JVC. Risen, complete with earthy interiors and too-pretty-to-eat desserts it’s the perfect place to spend a morning with friends. The artisanal café and bakery, stocks a selection of gluten-free, vegan and low-GI options, including artisanal breads such as sourdough and focaccia. They also have a broad selection of sweet-treats, an all-day breakfast menu, and really good coffee.
