Look: UAE military vehicles roll down city streets, transport rescued residents to safety

Heavy rains swept over Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah during the past few days causing floods in the several areas.

Police and emergency teams in the UAE were mobilised and rescue operations were being carried out as residents got stranded in flooded homes, wadis and far-flung areas since Wednesday evening.

Authorities in the UAE have rescued over 870 people who were stranded in Sharjah and Fujairah after heavy rains lashed the eastern parts of the country and no deaths or serious injuries were reported.

The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defense continues with their ‘Faithful Hands’ operation in Fujairah, evacuating civilians to shelter areas and providing them with the necessary supplies.

The rescue team is also participating in search and rescue operations and providing medical aid to the civilians affected by the torrential rain.
