A number of football fans were taken into custody after a mass brawl erupted during an Adnoc Pro League match on Friday, the Sharjah Police said.
Those involved in the fight were arrested and released soon after an interrogation, the authorities said. No charges have been filed.
The two teams competing were Sharjah and Khor Fakkan, and the latter won the match 1-0.
Sharjah police has said in a Twitter post that it was dealing with the public fight after the match.
The authority added that necessary action had been taken against those responsible.
