Roll up, roll up, it’s British Yorkshire Pudding Day on Sunday February 6
Heard of Yorkshire Pudding Day? Know where to get the best Yorkshire puddings in Dubai?
You do now. And it’s coming right up on Sunday February 6.
A day dedicated to celebrating the humble Yorkie and the culinary alchemy that takes place when you combine flour, eggs and milk in just the right ratio – what could be better?
While you should certainly indulge in a Yorkie or six on the 6th (it would be rude not too), we see no reason to limit loving what’s arguably the best thing about a Sunday lunch to a mere 24-hours. Here’s our pick of the finest batter-based savoury puds in town.

Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, Atlantis The Palm
On the 6th February, the chefs at Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen & Bar will be dishing up a special menu dedicated to Yorkshire’s finest export. Diners can keep it classic with a roast dinner in a Yorkie shell, opt for toad in the hole with mash and gravy or devour the cockle-warming, comfort food delight that is a proper steak and kidney stew presented in a Yorkshire pudding bowl.
While these dishes are available for one day only, Yorkshires feature on the restaurant’s Ramsay’s Roast menu, which runs every Sunday from 12pm-3pm.

folly Workshop at Time Out Market Dubai
Now he might think of himself as king of the roast potatoes (and we’re certainly not going to argue with that) but Nick Alvis, chef patron of folly Workshop at our very own Time Out Market Dubai, knows his way around a bowl of Yorkshire pudding batter too. Every weekend he and the team serve up rare roast beef, seasonal vegetables, golden roasties and rivers of gravy all cradled in a giant Yorkshire pudding.
Dhs119. Sat-Sun noon- 12am. Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai, timeoutmarket.com/dubai.
Marina Social
As you’d expect from a chef with a constellation of Michelin stars to his name, the Yorkshire puddings that accompany the roast (opt for wagyu beef rump, Welsh lamb, chicken or butternut squash steak) at Jason Atherton’s Marina Social are nigh on perfect: light, crisp and perfectly golden.
Starters and desserts on the Sunday Social menu are pretty special too, think deep fried cod fritters with tartare sauce to start and sticky toffee pudding with banana ice cream to finish. Lovely jubbly.
Dhs250 for two courses, Dhs300 for three courses (both options include one selected alcoholic beverage). Sun 1pm-10.45pm. InterContinental Dubai Marina (04 446 6664).
Reddy Roast
Question: When cravings for a Yorkshire pudding hit mid-week, what is a Dubai dweller to do? Answer: head to the Reddy Roast website. For a roast dinner where the (ginormous) Yorkshire pudding is the out-and-out star of the show, the Yorkshire pudding bowl filled with your choice of beef, chicken, lamb or crispy veg balls, trimmings aplenty and lashings of gravy is the way to go.
Prices vary. Open daily. www.reddyroast.com, www.deliveroo.ae (058 586 9980).
The Duck Hook
The beef roast at British gastropub The Duck Hook is pretty epic. The premium quality meat comes cooked not one, not two, but three ways (slow roasted topside, roasted rib and pulled short rib) and trimmings include duck fat roasties, braised red cabbage, thyme and honey root veg and horseradish cream. But you know what makes the feast truly special? A homemade Yorkshire pudding cooked to perfection, that’s what.
Top tip: go all out and add an extra Yorkie to your order for an additional Dhs5.

The Scene by Simon Rimmer
Whether you opt for the roast beef, half roast chicken, mixed roast, slow-braised pulled lamb with mint sauce or veggie loaf (and frankly there’s not a dud amongst that list), a Sunday lunch at The Scene comes crowned with a beautiful beast of a Yorkshire pudding – plump, pillowy and crisp of shell. Classic comfort food indeed.
Prices start at Dhs125. Sunday from 12pm onwards. Pier 7, Dubai Marina (04 422 2328).
